Sitting in the lounge, manning the tuckshop, and a group of girls are watching Jaws. Hollis won’t be swimming for a few days.
It was another good day today. Moving mulch with a wheelbarrow and shovel, spreading it on the gardens. Its taking me forever to finish.  Dan had me digging up a water pipe this afternoon. I was up to my ankles in wet, slippery mud. Of course I chose today to wear Beth’s work shoes, too. They were a mess. I’ll have to toss them in the washer. (if that’s even possible? argghh, sorry beth!) I was relieved when Greg took over the job.
Oh lord, this bloody movie is ridiculous. Hmmm….can’t remember, does Richard Dryfus die?
So there’s only about a month left here. Time is flying. We still don’t have a plan – thinking about a few things. I know that returning home in the fall will be difficult to do. But you know, I’m really not all that concerned tonight. (the shark’s taking up too much of my concentration)
I have new friends here. Dianne’s little cousins Morgan, 8, and Cameron, 6, are staying up with their Grandmother for the week. They met me the day we went to Market together. Since then they stop to say hello and chat. They’re impressed that I have a boyfriend. They are sweet little girls – make me wonder if I wouldn’t enjoy teaching grade school, after all.
Greg is out collecting garbage and selling firewood.
I’m going to have an ice cream tonight.
and, that’s all I have to say.
