Its a dull day. Dave and I are just about ready to head out to Hamilton. His bags are packed, he’s (nearly) ready to go…he’s not leaving on a jet plane. It hasn’t really sunk in yet that Dave is moving away to school. I know that its not that far, but he could be moving across town and it would still make me sad. Not that I’m not excited for him and proud of him. Its just change. And I’m going to miss him. Quite a bit. Hunter is feeling pretty upset too. She sees Dave tearing his room apart and packing it all in boxes that then head to the car…..she knows that he’s going somewhere, and it doesn’t please her, no, not one little bit.
I’ll drop Davey off at his place (“his place” – so weird), head back to St. Kitts (most likely crying along the way - am I being ridiculous?), and then its over to the Jones’ for dinner.
Its now 10:34 pm. Dave is safe and sound in Hamilton, it was a lonely drive home, dinner with the Jones’ was fantastic, the garbage is out, and I am heading off to have a bubble bath before bed.
And yes, I did cry on the way home from Hamilton – just a little.
